Equestrians, together with other sports enthusiasts, sometimes lose confidence in their skills and abilities.  This can have a negative impact on their sport, making something that was once very pleasurable become increasingly stressful as they are unable to regain their lost form.

Perhaps the formal setting of competition causes you anxiety.  Loss of confidence and anxiety can create a ripple effect that if left unchecked will eventually spread through everything you do with your sport and you may not have a clear idea of why it is happening to you. 

Sometimes people are aware of a single event that has triggered their problem, others find that the problem has built up slowly over time.  Whatever has happened, once a pattern of behaviour has been identified, it is a simple matter to change your mental attitude into a positive one.
